Subversive liberal art strategies from the past and present are the focus of this year’s exhibition at Grad Castle as part of the HOCHsommer Festival programme. Alongside works from two cycles by the father of the Kharkiv photography school Yevgeniy Pavlov, pictures by the Hungarian artist Martha Kicsiny will be shown.

In cooperation with the HOCHsommer-Festival and the Pavelhaus, steirischer herbst presents a selection of films from its prologue exhibition of video art about the war in Ukraine.

At a matinee on 7. 8.2022 at 11.00 a.m., the artists will give an overview of their work from the Soviet times until today in an artist talk. Andrii Pavlov , who is to enter from Ukraine with an exceptional permit, will talk about the work of artists and cultural work - ers during the current war.
