In Cooperatin with Pavelhaus and Verein HOCHsommer we invite you to the Exibition Hedonism 2020-2021 at the Grad Castle.

18th August 2021 at 6:00 PM: Guided tour with curator Petja Grafenauer with discussion on the current situation of the cultural scene in Slovenia with the present artists. This will be followed by a music performance by Tomaž Grom.

Even the elderly say they have never seen a year like it. It was a fateful time for everything, including global visual art, and even more so for local visual art. The conditions of production have deteriorated, they have changed because of the epidemic and the dominance of the digital, and so have the ways in which artworks are presented and how the art world works. Being at the centre of these changes, we step aside from the threatening mundane life to allow ourselves to indulge for a moment. Epicurus had already developed the wisdom of life that pleasure is something good, but the greatest pleasure is not achieved by satisfying our needs, but by escaping pain, the discomfort of the body, and by becoming completely tranquil. Let’s experience 11 different possible worlds of understanding pleasure in our unprecedented time.
