Outdoor classroom
Step into nature at the Outdoor Classroom for Pollinators, created as part of the cross-border BEE(A)WARE project by the Nature Park Goričko Public Institute. Nestled near Grad Castle in a beautifully maintained high-trunk meadow orchard, this unique classroom invites school groups, families, and nature enthusiasts of all ages to explore the fascinating world of pollinators.
Here, you can:
- Meet the pollinators – learn about different species of wild pollinators and why they are vital for nature and humans.
- Discover and solve challenges – find out why pollinators are endangered and how we can help protect them.
- Observe pollinators in action – watch pollinators visiting flowering plants in the raised bed or see which species are nesting in the solitary bee and bumblebee boxes.
- Explore connections in nature – uncover the relationships between pollinators and flowers or explore key meadow plants that are crucial for their survival.
- Relax and reflect – sit on a bench or sun lounger, listen to the sounds of nature, and watch how the orchard transforms through the seasons.
All informational panels are available in English, Slovenian, and Croatian, accessible via QR codes for an interactive experience.
The classroom is open year-round, freely accessible, and perfect for a self-guided visit or a guided nature experience.
