Project Gorička krajina on International conference on grassland management
On May 16th, Gorička krajina project team participated on the international conference titled “Challenges and opportunities in multifunctional management of grasslands”. The conference was held between 15. and 17. of May, within the project LIFE to GRASSLANDS (LIFE14 NAT/SI/000005) in Ptuj. The purpose of the conference was to encourage long term multifunctional grassland management, networking of experts and to exchange knowledge and experience about sustainable grassland management, including all the challenges of modern farm practises. Over 110 people from 6 countries attended the conference on May 16th.
Gregor Domanjko presented Goričko Nature park long-term management of the extensive meadows and some examples of nature-friendly grassland management practices within the project Gorička krajina such as conservation agreements with land owners.
The conference was a unique opportunity to get accuanted with different management practices and to share experiences on grassland management with other nature conservationists and experts on grassland management.
